Small Wonders Day Nursery and Out of School Care
Small Wonders has been providing quality childcare since1997.Our Nursery adjacent to Rettendon School, which opened in February 2003, is our third site and caters for up to 75 children from birth to 12 years.
We are located within grounds leased from Essex County Council in our own purpose built nursery building which has facilities to cater for every child’s individual needs and ability.
Small Wonders is registered with Ofsted and regularly undergoes inspections to ensure we maintain and improve our good practice.
Our Mission Statement says “We believe that all children have an individual right to the best care within a stimulating environment and to be given every opportunity to develop purposefully without pressure and at a pace that is suitable to them as an individual”. We promote high child to staff ratios at all times. All staff have Early Years/Playwork qualifications and experience relevant to the services we offer, along with current first aid and basic food hygiene certificates. Every staff member is encouraged to progress through training opportunities and workshops to suit their individual needs.
We operate an ‘open door’ policy where we encourage and welcome visits from prospective parents and other interested parties.
Small Wonders is a member of the National Day Nurseries Association, Pre-School Learning Alliance, and Kids Club Network. We hold an Investors in People Award and are currently working towards our ‘Aiming High’ and Nursery Quality Assurance Awards here at Rettendon.
